Meet an Immigrant: Mirza Tihić
If you’re concerned about the state of American politics, I think you’ll enjoy this week’s guest, Mirza Tihić. Mirza grew up in pre-war Bosnia, and witnessed the rise of anti-Bosnian rhetoric. While he and his family narrowly escaped the Bosnian genocide, many others, including some family members, weren't so fortunate.
He's currently a Postdoctoral Researcher and Adjunct Professor at Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management, Department of Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises. He also served as Assistant Director of the office of Vice Chancellor for Veteran and Military Affairs. In addition, he's an entrepreneur involved in multiple projects, and cofounder of the North Side Learning Center in Syracuse, New York.
Mirza is also an advisor to Bey Foundation. To learn more about their eight-day guided tour of Bosnia that culminates in the Srebrenica Peace March, visit BeyFoundation.org.
